You've got rhythm, yes you do! We all do, not just in the musical sense but our patterns of emotions, thoughts, and energy levels flow in a rhythm all their own.
Everything in nature reflects this rhythmic course of life. We are an inseparable part of that everything. No matter the modern conveniences, our bodies, minds and life force recognize these rhythms. Some of these rhythms might be felt collectively, while others are more individual.
Many gray days in a row as opposed to sunny days, for example, may show up in the collective mood of people in an area. The phases of the moon can have an effect on our energy levels and on our mood collectively. The full moon of May, known as the Flower Moon since all of those beauties are beginning to bloom, will shine it's bright face upon us tonight! No wonder my dreams have been vivid, my body tired and my mind loud.
While these rhythms might seem more apparent as we all experience them together, there are also those rhythms that are more personal to each of us.
Do you notice a time of day when you get your work done with greater ease? Are there any connections you've made to your cycle of being more social or wanting more time alone? Is there a day of the week that you notice your emotions leaning more towards happiness? Do you FEEL your own rhythm in your physical, mental and emotional energy levels? We might relate these rhythms to our schedule, but if we look at ourselves closely we may also begin to create a schedule, give ourselves space and compassion based on our own natural rhythms.

We tend to close up and shut down when something is forced, when we go against our natural rhythm. Be as nature intended, may we honor our rhythms with acknowledgement.
